Bibi Seshanba Pilgrimage Site

Bibi Seshanba (Bibi Seshanbe) is a sacred pilgrimage site located in Sultanabad village, Qo‘rg‘ontepa district of Andijan region, along the Andijan–Khanabad road. The site is especially popular among women, and many visitors come to pray for children, family peace, and healing.
The name of the shrine is associated with the legendary figure Bibi Seshanba, who is revered as a patron of women and family happiness. Since the Middle Ages, this place has been a pilgrimage destination. During the Soviet period, pilgrimages were banned, but after independence, the site was restored and beautified.
Within the shrine’s territory there are several healing springs: Jannatbuloq, Sumalakbuloq, Qizbuloq, Ko‘zbuloq, and Sho‘rbuloq. According to local belief, the most favorable day for pilgrimage is Tuesday.

Shohimardon — A Unique Place in the Fergana Valley

Andijan Fortress — Historical Defense Monument

“Do‘sti Xudo” Shrine — Fergana Region

The “Do‘sti Xudo” Shrine is one of the sacred pilgrimage sites in the Fergana region, and its name means “Friend of God.” A righteous person named Atoulloh is buried here. According to legends, Atoulloh came from Maschox (present-day Tajikistan) and worked here. Mavlon-Buva Complex — Namangan Region

The Mavlon-Buva Complex was built in 1806 and is one of the important historical and architectural monuments of Namangan. The construction date is indicated above the entrance as the year 1221 Hijri. The complex is associated with the famous poet Mavlon-Buva (Mavlavi Namangani), who was buried here.

The complex stands out with its majestic portal, spear-shaped arch, and high niches. On both sides of the entrance are three-tiered decorative columns with a conical shape. Behind the portal lies a pilgrimage hall measuring 7×7 meters. The upper part of the facade is decorated with an ornamental arcade, while the rest consists of smooth brickwork.

The interior is decorated with carved ganch and paintings. The walls feature a mihrab image, vases with flowers, and geometric patterns. Poems written in Arabic calligraphy enrich the epigraphic decoration of the complex. The colorful ceiling with geometric and star-shaped ornaments is one of the most elegant parts of the complex.

The complex was restored in 1875, 1905, and 1957. Today it is one of the important pilgrimage and historical sites of Namangan region.

Khoja Ma’oz Mausoleum in Margilan

The Khoja Ma’oz Mausoleum in Margilan was built in the first half of the 18th century and is one of the finest examples of the local architectural school. The mausoleum was constructed of baked bricks and has been well preserved to this day.

The building has a rectangular shape (6.4 × 7.4 m) and forms a single monolithic composition with a portal facing east. The dome, with a diameter of 4.4 meters, rests on a drum whose lower part is faceted and the upper part cylindrical.

The facade of the mausoleum is made of ganch tiles and divided into smooth rectangular panels with borders decorated with floral patterns. Although some decorations have been damaged over time, certain fragments have survived.

The interior also has a unique design: an octagonal chamber with lancet niches harmoniously combined with the external rectangular structure. This rare composition is considered an uncommon example of medieval memorial architecture.

The purity of forms, proportional harmony, and delicate decorative elements place this mausoleum among the most important historical and architectural monuments of Margilan. According to legend, the mausoleum is associated with the great Islamic figure and companion of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), Khoja Ma’oz ibn Jabal.
